Region VI Professional Development Day

The Region 6 Professional Development Committee is pleased to announce our first ever combined November Inservice Conference to be held on Tuesday, November 4th at Upper Merion Area High School in King of Prussia, PA.  Please see the attached flyer for the list of clinicians, cost and registration dates to share with music teachers in your district and administrators.

Please note that Registration will occur in two phases this year.  Phase 1 will be from September 8th to October 7th.  In this phase, we will release the full schedule and registration will be for payment only.  Phase 2 will be a Google form that will go out to all paid registered attendees for 1st and 2nd choice session selection and will be open from October 8th to October 14th.

Instrumental Audition Excerpts

Click here for the registration invoice. For all checks, please ensure they are made out to PMEA D11.

To register, students should arrive at 8:00 A.M. There is no need to arrive early, as registration will be open from 8:00-9:00 A.M. A line will form at our stage. We have attached a map of our high school for your convenience. Students can park anywhere on campus and follow wayfinding signs to our auditorium. Directors can park in our Performing Arts Complex parking lot off Fort Washington Avenue. 

We will have refreshments and food available for purchase during the day.

Photocopies of the excerpts are permitted. Please disregard any references to using actual purchased sheet music on the forms. Photocopies of our excerpts are acceptable.

Junior High Songfest (Grades 7-9)

Junior High Songfest (Grades 7-9) will be hosted by Amy Venkus at Colonial Middle School (Plymouth Whitemarsh SD) on April 8, 2025 as a 1 day fest with a concert at 7:00pm.  The guest Director will be Arreon Harley-Emerson, conductor of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus and CEO/Artistic Director of Elevate Vocal Arts.

Elementary Songfest (Grades 4-6)

Elementary Songfest (Grades 4-6) will be hosted by Tyler Gibson at Springfield Township High School (Montgomery County) on April 10, 2025 as a 1 day fest with a concert at 7:00pm.  The guest director will be Kendra Balmer from Temple’s Boyer College of Music and Dance.
