Congratulations on having a student(s) accepted into the District 11 Orchestra Festival! 

My name is Jennifer DeSanto and I am this year's festival host.  The festival will be held from Thursday, January 22nd through Saturday, January 24th at Arcola Intermediate School in Eagleville.  I hope to have folders to all the hubs by the end of the day today.

Elementary & Junior High Songfest (Grades 5-8)

We are excited to invite you to the PMEA District 11 Combined Elementary & Jr High Song Fest on April 8, 2026 at Upper Perkiomen Middle School with a snow date of April 9, 2026.

ALL INFORMATION, DIRECTOR & STUDENT REGISTRATION CAN BE FOUND HERE

Each school from PMEA District 11 may bring up to 10 of their top 5 & 6th graders for elementary fest and up to 10 7 & 8th graders for junior high fest. Elementary Songfest will be directed by Dr. Kyle Zeuch, ACDA PA president and director of choral activities at Lebanon Valley College. Junior High Songfest will be directed by Mrs. Serena Heffner, arts department chair and director of choral music at Linden Hall and adjunct voice professor at Lebanon Valley College. 

We are capping the festival participation at 150 per choir. For the elementary fest, we will assign schools either part 1 or part 2 and address any further splits once you are registered. For the junior high fest we are asking for approx. 3 sopranos, 3 altos and 4 changed voices who can sing comfortably in the baritone/cambiata range. Please try to balance your voices. 

A sample schedule for the day is as follows (this may change due to the school’s schedule):

9-10 am Registration in front of auditorium
10 am         Warm ups
10-12:30 pm Rehearsal with conductor (with breaks)
12:30-1pm Lunch *Students are to provide their own lunch and 1-2 healthy snacks*
1 - 5 pm Rehearsal with conductor and breaks as needed
5 pm     Run through
5:45 pm Dinner (provided)
6:30 pm Warm-up/Line up
7:00 pm Concert @ Upper Perkiomen Middle School Auditorium

Students will be given t-shirts to wear for the concert, and are asked to wear nicer dark colored pants/shoes during the day.  There will be time after dinner to change into T-shirts.

Directors must be PMEA members to participate. The cost for each student is $50.  These fees cover the cost of the music, directors, accompanist, nurse, t-shirt, and dinner.  You will need to share the digital student information form with families and they MUST fill this out in order for the student to participate in the Fest. School Acknowledgment and Payment forms are still hard copies. Conductors can fill out the registration form below and send it with payment to Tina. One check or money order per school is required.  Please make these payable to PMEA District 11. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED..

Region VI Professional Development Day

Hello PMEA District 11 members,

Registration for the Region 6 November Inservice Conference is open.  The conference will be held on Tuesday, November 4th at Upper Merion Area High School in King of Prussia, PA.  Please see the attached packet for the session offerings, clinicians, schedules and registration rates.

Registration is open from September 8th to October 7th.  The direct link for registration is: pmead12.ludus.com,  This link is the only way to register and pay for inservice and is credit card only.  Here is an invoice that you can fill out to submit to school districts: Blank Invoice  The invoice includes all the information that will need to be provided on the registration form in Ludus, so it should be a guide for business offices etc. to enter information accurately.

Junior High Songfest (Grades 7-9)

Junior High Songfest (Grades 7-9) will be hosted by Amy Venkus at Colonial Middle School (Plymouth Whitemarsh SD) on April 8, 2025 as a 1 day fest with a concert at 7:00pm.  The guest Director will be Arreon Harley-Emerson, conductor of the Brooklyn Youth Chorus and CEO/Artistic Director of Elevate Vocal Arts.
